Times Higher Education Feature on Academic Blogging

The Times Higher Education (THE) has published an article reporting the rise of blogging by UK academics. The article focuses on the issues of academic freedom, highlighting several cases where staff have been asked to remove their sites from institutional servers or remove references to their employers.
There are some very interesting examples of how blogs are being used including the work of Cameron Neylon who “says he is the only academic in the UK keeping a full online laboratory notebook … from the weight of his chemicals to the results of his experiments”. Visit Cameron’s Sortase Cloning blog here.
The THE article also includes a selection of the most popular UK academic blogs. The article in full is available here.
